The trick to this is to have a fresh, not over ripened pineapple. Twist the stem off and make sure it has lots of sunlight. You probably wont see any substantial size fruit for 3 years. It should also be noted that pineapples grow in trees, so you are going to need to transplant this tree eventually to a permanent piece of land.
