This is what we have devolved to folks. No backpacks or clear backpacks, because we can’t control mass shootings in schools. Oh, and we can’t control guns. So now, we punish kids.
I know for a lot of kids (most), a backpack was like your own little identity. You bring it, pimp it, rock it, store all your ‘stuff’ in it, and then, crammed all your school stuff too. You basically took it almost everywhere. So, this brings up another thought…
Ok, you ban backpacks, are jackets, hoodies, and basically anything with an concealed pocket next? I get it, at least they are trying to do SOMETHING! But, here’s an idea, redo gun laws.
I say psych and personality tests, longer wait periods, re license every year. My hubby thinks we should reclassify AKs of instead of being guns, as military assault weapons. I think all persons in household should be registered with all guns in household, and thus at age 14-15 would have to take psych and personality tests. All the way until 25 each year.
Then maybe, we would have a better grip on who is more capable of killing. I consider it preventive care. I mean, you gotta reup your drivers license regularly, a fishing license annually, a hunting license annually. This should fall at least in that purview.
I’m not anti gun, I’m anti killing folks. Even the guy who there was a manhunt for that they just caught, did you know cops had been to his home before for shooting his gun off in his yard? Why the hell didn’t they take it away then? I’m sorry, but if cops show up at your house due to a complaint about you shooting your gun recklessly, there shouldn’t be a second chance. You are obvious irresponsible. Most likely unstable. Take away the guns. Have temporary mental health restraining order.
I mean we could stop some of this craziness before it escalates. Something has to be done, other than taking backpacks from kids. I suppose lunch bags are next. Absolute madness!
