Today marks the one year anniversary of the passing of my beloved Hugo Morse. 3/21/07 – 10/14/22. I love all of my babies. But he was my ride or die. We played, we sang, we danced, we laughed, we cried, we hugged, and snuggled endlessly. He was my biggest cheerleader. My closest confidant. My best friend. My protector. He was beautiful in every way. He traveled with us every where. Coast to coast, the four corners of the nation, and every place in between practically, even to the Bahamas, Dominca Republica, Puerto Rico, and back to the States. He ended up passing when we were staying in Texas last year.

I miss him every freaking day. I still catch myself tearing up randomly, when something reminds me of him. We had him cremated, as with our other two boys, his older brothers, Harry (Toy Poodle), and Happy (Miniature Schnauzer). We have them here with us. So, in a way, they are always with us.

In March we decided Hercules (Labradoodle), and I needed a playmate 2.0 desperately. My soul felt like I was missing a piece of me. I could never replace Hugo. So, we adopted our first girl, Harley (after Harley Quinn) and she looks almost identical to Hugo (aka Pooh Bear, after Winnie the Pooh). Just way bigger. Harley is 3/4 Standard Poodle, and 1/8 St. Bernard, 1/8 Newfoundland. She is perfect. Hugo would have loved her.

So, in celebration of him, our Pooh Bear, aka Hugo (after Hugo Boss) here are pictures of him over the years. In looking at them, I realized I need to go clothes shopping for Harley. Hugo was very fashionable. He loved his outfits. He even had snow boots.

Hercules only knew Hugo out of his siblings, because Happy passed in Las Vegas when he was super young. So, Hugo was his “big” brother. Mind you Hercules is 105 lbs, and Hugo never got bigger than 40-45 lbs. But, he loved Hugo. It broke his heart I think when he passed. He was missing him like I was. So, Harley is an excellent addition to our family.

They may cross over the Rainbow Bridge, but they are always in our heart.

Til I hold you again Hugo, mommy and daddy will always love you. Say hi to your brothers, and enjoy playing with Baba (his volleyball), and swimming until then.
