This is a very important read for all of Us. As I know I have, and am suffering side affects from all the meds, especially stomach, and pain, and Tylenol, that I have had to take, the past 10 years, or much longer.

I was born with EXTREME GERD.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the tube connecting your mouth and stomach (esophagus). This backwash (acid reflux) can irritate the lining of your esophagus.

Many people experience acid reflux from time to time. GERD is mild acid reflux that occurs at least twice a week, or moderate to severe acid reflux that occurs at least once a week.

A digestive disease in which stomach acid or bile irritates the food pipe lining.

This is a chronic disease that occurs when stomach acid or bile flows into the food pipe and irritates the lining. Acid reflux and heartburn more than twice a week may indicate GERD.

Symptoms

Common signs and symptoms of GERD include:

A burning sensation in your chest (heartburn), usually after eating, which might be worse at night

Chest pain

Difficulty swallowing

Regurgitation of food or sour liquid

Sensation of a lump in your throat

If you have nighttime acid reflux, you might also experience:

Chronic cough

Laryngitis

New or worsening asthma

Disrupted sleep

When to see a doctor

Seek immediate medical care if you have chest pain, especially if you also have shortness of breath, or jaw or arm pain. These may be signs and symptoms of a heart attack.
Make an appointment with your doctor if you:

Experience severe or frequent GERD symptoms

Take over-the-counter medications for heartburn more than twice a week

My GERD is so severe, I have had to have my Esophagus widen twice, and a Fundoplication Nissen Surgery (complications from surgery, couldn’t complete surgery). My GERD is genetic and triggered from my emotions, unlike many who induce GERD from diet or lifestyle. My lifelong Night Terrors exacerbate the situation to say the least.

Needless to say, I have taken every prescription pill available, and OTC, to combat this lifelong problem, usually at max or beyond max dosage, as advised by several doctors and specialists. As, when in full swing, I literally can gag or throw up daily multiple times even if super stressed out.. Thus, why I hard core meditate.

Then you have my general being, who definitely has two left feet when it comes to walking most of the time. I swear, I can trip over or bump into air. That’s right AIR!No reason needed. This leads to the random Sprain, Strain, Broken Bone, Bruise, Fracture, and etc.

Add my acute Allergies, Migraines, and acute Insomnia, two severe Car Accidents, I’m batting over 1000 as they say, for random prescribed, and OTC meds I’ve had to take.

This brings me to where I am now. I decided last year I was mentally and physically ready to be the best me again. Plus, I wanted to be uber healthy. I am feeling very inspired, and exuberant in my endeavors. By no means do I want my 20 year old looking body. But, I want the best 51 year old looking body possible. Mentally I feel like 21. Spiritually, I feel connected and zen. Now, it’s my body’s turn.

So, I started this journey. I am a Vitamin Guru, have been a vitamin nut my whole life. I’ve always eaten really healthy. I don’t like soda, or sugars, or table salts, or fried food, or junk foods. I’m a whole nutrient eater. So, this was all a plus. I eat the naughty stuff rarely, or occasionally, but not often, most, not at all. I currently don’t drink any alcohol at all, just haven’t wanted to. Don’t smoke, never did. I’m working out again after two years of broken ankles.

So imagine my frustration when the pounds aren’t coming off, as I know they should. So, I went to the doctor last week. Apparently, I have to see an Endocrinologist. You see I have very low blood pressure, low cholesterol, low blood sugar, low body temperature, great RHR Resting Heart Rate, the vitals of a really healthy 21 year old. However, I have Menopause, probable Thyroid Hypothyroidism, Hormonal Imbalance, GERD acting up, Psoriasis flaring and Night Terrors run amuck. All of these are intertwined, and making my journey HELL!

Many of these are induced by the treatment of some other ailment or malady I have. Some, just genetic, and some ‘Father Time’ created. No matter what, most of it treatable, and or fixable.

This article details some very common side effects to taking common OTC, Over the Counter, and Prescribed Medicines, and how they may wreck havoc on your body. But you still need the medicines possibly, and this how to treat them. Always remember KNOWLEDGE IS POWER AND STRENGTH!

For instance, I have had to take Tylenol in mass quantities, as I could not take aspirin, and had to take stomach meds for my GERD, or pain meds.

It even talks about Melantonin for sleep for insomniacs. I know for me, this article really hits so many points for me with my current rabbit hole of my body being out of whack. Even as going as far as to discuss depression and anxiety medicines and weight gain. I know for a fact I gained at least 30lbs just from taking Depacote after our car accident alone. That I never lossed. Then add Thyroid, Insomnia, and Menopause, to the equation, it is brutal.

This is why I am seeing an Endocrinologist to get my shit straight.

Article at-a-glance:

Fifty-five percent of Americans now take at least one drug and almost 12% take five or more prescriptions drugs.

Doctors and pharmacists almost never discuss drug-induced nutrient depletions with patients even though the fix is easy–simply take dietary supplements to replenish what’s lost.

Nutrients stripped from the body by medications can cause depression, anemia, increase osteoporosis and fracture risk, and is the number one cause of non-alcoholic liver failure.

Since your doctor isn’t likely going to be the one to tell you this information, you need to educate yourself, and be able to ask your doctor the right questions.

Well, I love my readers, and really want the best that life has to offer, for all of us. I just want you to know I am working my ass off to feel better and best, and I want you to feel better and feel your best too. {{{Hugs}}}
