What is Shrek’s real secret?

Shrek was based on a real human named Maurice Tillet, a Russian-born wrestler who primarily competed in France in the 1940s.

Like the ogre, Maurice was treated like a monster, described as “a fierce monstrosity, not a human being, but a stone of brutality”.

However, he was a man with a huge heart, extremely generous, and intelligent.

His appearance was due to a condition called acromegaly, which is usually caused by a benign tumor and symptoms include enlargement of the face, hands, and feet.

He lived to be 51 years old, exceeding the low life expectancies that doctors gave him.

As most of you know, I am a HUGE Animation Fan and Science Fiction Fan . Therefore, I am always interested in the back story of the characters origins. We even at a time lived in the home of the creator of Winnie the Pooh.

As a matter of fact, growing up, in elementary school, knew the creator of E.T., Carlo Rimbaldi, his family, and my classmate Daniela. Who knew E.T. was inspired by a shaved Himalayan Cat. Thus leading to the bone structure of E.T.’s head.

All that being said, inspiration can be found anywhere. You simply have to look around. You might be pleasantly surprised.
